Gratulation to 200 years of roll castings

Certificate handover at WALZEN IRLE: Dr. J. v. Schweinichen, Dr. P. v. Schweinichen, F. G. Hensel, K. Gräbener und Th. Fink

200 years of roll casting was the reason for WALZEN IRLE to celebrate in 2020 an important milestone. But the planned gala evening with business partners as well as the separate event with the approximately 300 employees in late summer fell victim to "Corona" and were postponed to June 2021.

President Felix G. Hensel and General Manager Klaus Gräbener brought the congratulations on 11th of August of the presidency and management of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Siegen on the unusual company anniversary and presented the two managing directors Dr. Petrico von Schweinichen and Thomas Fink with a certificate of honour. Felix G. Hensel was impressed after the factory tour by the company's long-term philosophy: "It is a great achievement to be successful in such a traditional industry over such a long period of time." In addition, the IHK president was particularly concerned to point out the company's consistent work with young talent. WALZEN IRLE has always distinguished itself through continuity and high quality in the training of young people. He especially thanked the honorary engagement of the IRLE trainers in the examination boards of the IHK as well as Dr. Jaxa von Schweinichen for his decades of work in the IHK general assembly and in the bbz board of directors, which he has presided over since 2015.

IHK General Manager Klaus Gräbener, a native of Netphen, also paid tribute to the consistency with which the company operates on the market. For him, WALZEN IRLE embodies the industrialization of the “Netpherland” with only few other big company names. The company is inseparably connected with the town of Deuz and at the same time has secured work and income for numerous families in the upper Johannland and the upper Siegtal for generations. The company management has never forgotten to generously support associations, initiatives, the town of Deuz and also the town of Netphen. The public open-air swimming pool in Deuz, the redesigned railway station and the world's first bus, which has left its mark on the town centre, all illustrate this in a special way.

The actual roots of the traditional company, however, go back far more than 200 years. The first entrepreneur in the family, Johannes Irle, was baptized on March 11, 1666. By marriage Johannes became a tradesman at the upper Marienborner Hütte and passed on his knowledge of the melting process and his skills to the next generations.

In 1820 Hermann Irle, a grandson of Johannes Irle, and his son Johannes tried their first casting of a chilled cast iron roll.A constant process of further development and modernization followed.

For the near future WALZEN IRLE would like to see even closer cooperation with machine builders and other companies in the Siegerland region in order to bundle competencies and be able to assess production needs even better.
