Another high-tec product for the PVC-Industry

After more than 9 months of machining, WALZEN IRLE finished in time the next order for one of our long-term customers in the film industry with 6 peripherically drilled Calender Rolls.

The rolls of more than 950 mm outer diameter and 5000 mm in working length (about 8000 mm overall) have a weight of about 30 tons/each.

The calender rolls are made of special forged steel FS2-640 and hardened up to more than 80° Shore C. All rolls are peripherically drilled. Furthermore, some rolls are hot ground at operating temperature at more than 180° C and polished to a smooth surface roughness.

The run-out of the hot ground calender rolls is smaller than 2 µm under operating temperature.

Our customer will produce products like flex banners, ceiling film, sunshade films, tarpaulins this 6 roll calender.

The complete machining of these rolls incl. the induction hardening took place at our WALZEN IRLE plant in Netphen, Germany.

We would like to thank our estimated customer for this order and the trust in our products. Our employees have once again finished a perfect job.
